1 small onion peeled and chopped

1 piece cinnamon
3 cloves
2 cardamom capsules crushed
3 teaspoons ground coriander
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon turmeric ground (optional if using apples)
1/2 chili powder (to taste)
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup coconut milk
1 teaspoon brown sugar optional i don't add this
