Chicken Breasts In Sour Cream Gravy

Features:
    Cuisine:

Succulent & the sauce goes so well with rice (or potatoes)! THE SAUCE makes this recipe special! When I saw this recipe a short while back, I told my wife that we had to preview it for a supper club we are in (for one of the upcoming times it is our turn to host the group). Thanks for a keeper! Pretty much made the recipe as directed except did not use the onion rings for us... the "to taste" seasoning choices give a lot of latitude for individual tastes (and I suppose other seasoning combinations could be tried). Might also want to consider adding freshly sliced mushrooms to the sauce for "special guest" occasions.I agree that the sauce should be doubled if you desire to have plenty for the chicken AND additional sauce for a side as well. There are a lot of FAT calories in this so it will NOT be an every week go-to recipe, but it is PERFECT for those special occasions or special indulgence times!Might be possible to scale back on the sour cream & substitute some lower fat (or FF) Greek-style yogurt while maintaining the creamy consistency of the sauce! (Personally my wife and I just do not like the taste/texture of no-fat versions of sour cream, cream cheese, or mayonnaise!) Smaller portions... or reading the recipe and making something else lighter are always options. With age comes weight watching & less frequent indulgences! LOL
