Homemade Curry Powder

Features:
  • Vegan
Cuisine:

I followed MyLittleEye's advice and toasted some of the spices (just the whole ones) before grinding. It came out nicely. When I make it next, I will grind in two steps: first just the whole spices, then add the rest. I think it makes sense that the whole spices would need more grinding time.

Homemade Curry Powder,,I followed MyLittleEye’s advice and toasted some of the spices (just the whole ones) before grinding. It came out nicely. When I make it next, I will grind in two steps: first just the whole spices, then add the rest. I think it makes sense that the whole spices would need more grinding time.,The oldest review is 16 years old and it was the top recipe on google for curry powder. I’m impressed. In my haste to make a vegan curry dish, it didn’t occur to me that I had no curry, store-bought prepared. I have another interesting curry recipe somewhere…so much easier to just google it. And so since I have no grinder (what?) and did have the already ground spices, used them instead and it turned out great. The star rating is missing. I give a 4 1/2. Maybe dry toasting the seeds is the answer to a 5 rating.
