Nans Chili

I've made this recipe several times since I found it a few years back. It is my go-to chili recipe & can easily be tweaked for taste. It won my son back to chili. No more store bought chili spice packets for us. I was skeptical of the amount of chili seasoning called for. But, after increasing with each batch made, that is the amount needed. I like to chop fresh onion & put it along with garlic in the ground beef while I brown it. I drain that & then add the rest to the stock pot. Once all ingredients are added, I pour the whole batch into a slow cooker on low for 5ish hours. use only low sodium canned ingredients & add the amount of salt for the recipe. use petite diced tomatoes. I like a colorful bean assortment & will use a canned tri-bean blend, maybe a can of white beans, maybe black beans. Delish!

Nan’s Chili,This chili is great with or without beans. I prefer without, but my family prefers with. It’s an adaptation of Wic Fowlers chili mix. I measured the ingredients one time and added my own touches to change the recipe to our taste. You can speed up cooking time using the pressure cooker for 15 minutes.,I’ve made this recipe several times since I found it a few years back. I like the petite diced tomatoes so I did use 2 cans instead of one, vegetable stock, red pepper flakes, and the salt to taste. This is definitely a keeper.
