Crock Pot Fruited Oatmeal,My husband loves this! use ground nuts as he doesn’t always like nuts in things and I can be sneaky that way. I think peaches would be wonderful substituted for the apples.,Very good! I made this with steel cut oats and set a timer to turn it on after I had gone to bed so it would only cook for 6 hours. I didn’t bother to melt the butter as it would melt in the cooking. As another reviewer suggested, I added a 1/2 cup of water. When it was done, my oatmeal was starting to get a light crust around the edges and it was very, very thick. I stirred in a cup of milk and and 1/2 cup of water to thin it a bit. Since I was making this for my Bible study group, I left out the fruit and nuts and offered them as toppings.
