Mama’s Spaghetti With Meat Sauce,This is adapted from my mom’s spaghetti recipe. It’s a family favorite that simmers while you prepare the pasta–great for busy nights. Leftovers make a great lunch. I usually serve this over spaghetti, but sometimes use linguine, fettucine, or penne. Good with garlicky bread and a salad. You can also make the sauce ahead and freeze it (it freezes quite well); just thaw and heat.,What kind of onion should use? Also what type of mushrooms?,A very flavourful sauce!! Very simple recipe to follow and the whole family loved it. I went ahead and added some red and green peppers since we like extra veggies in our spaghetti sauce. Brown sugar has always been the “secret ingredient” in all spaghetti sauces I have made in the past, so I stuck with the recipe here. Instead of mincing the garlic I just crushed the cloves and tossed them in. An appealing and appetizing dish!
