Rice Cooker Steel Cut Oatmeal

Features:
    Cuisine:

Looking at a bunch of recipes online for cooking steel cut oats in a rice and see a lot of comments about boil-overs. One common cause is using too small a rice cooker. But in all the recipes I've seen, the size of rice cooker is never mentioned! Obvious solution: specify the size of rice cooker being used for the ingredient amounts given in the recipe!!! Considering the wide range of sizes of rice cookers, I'm astonished that people who obviously put a lot of time and effort into posting their recipe neglect to say how big a cooker they're using.

Rice Cooker Steel Cut Oatmeal,This is out of the cookbook that came with my Wolfgang Puck rice cooker.,Looking at a bunch of recipes online for cooking steel cut oats in a rice and see a lot of comments about boil-overs. One common cause is using too small a rice cooker. But in all the recipes I’ve seen, the size of rice cooker is never mentioned! Obvious solution: specify the size of rice cooker being used for the ingredient amounts given in the recipe!!! Considering the wide range of sizes of rice cookers, I’m astonished that people who obviously put a lot of time and effort into posting their recipe neglect to say how big a cooker they’re using.,Absolutely the best breakfast I’ve had in awhile( and I’ve had some good breakfasts!) I followed the recipe exactly as she instructed then I added some chopped up fresh apples and I added quite a bit of cinnamon which I love. When I opened the rice cooker it looked brown on the bottom and I thought it was burnt but I think it was just a cinnamon taking on color because it was not burnt it was amazingly delicious! I will definitely be trying this many more times and trying the savory as well! Thank you for posting this so very much! By the way I have the Wolfgang Puck rice cooker that a dear friend gave me and I could have double this recipe probably could have quadrupled it. I had no boiling over whatsoever. In 15 minutes I had a wonderful delicious healthy Bowl of goodness! Thanks again!
